Hello to all,

It has come to my attention, and I am most intrigued by the high standards of this mod. I myself, play Company of Heroes frequently and decided to have a search for mods. Recently I have also been studing the comlexities of morden architecture and weaponary. I have taken a keen interest in this mod, and would like sincerely to be apart of it.

Furthermore, due to the fact im also very buzy with design work, and becuase of my extremely important upcoming examinations, I feel (if accepted) I will personally be inactive until middle/late June. I would like to use my skills as a learning tool. I wish for people to give me feedback on my work, and critque me. Hopefully some my be implemented into the mod.

Overall, I'm learning quicking the dynamics of 3D Modeling. I have modest experience with GmaX and 3DSMax. Wheras I prefer to model within Google SketchUp. (These can be converted via SketchUp to other file formats).

Previously, I have worked on modifing both C&C Conquer Renegade + Zero Hour for PC, also, I have modified Just Cause 2, but nay, that was very basic. Crysis SDK' I found particually interesting, but very hard. Im not very good at coding, but only when it comes down to website design (This could be a sub job, Im not sure on your intentions).

I will not post any work here of mine, but can I ask politely for a 'Unit or Building', you are going to design, or are in the inevitable stages of modeling, which I can model myself during the rest of this week; following into next week. Also a file format and scale will be needed if any please. I will not do any skinning, but I will add basic colour for effect...

I look forward to you reply :)

what version of 3D max do you have, since this is our basic modeling tool. Google sketchup does not give good modeling results unless you have the pro variant, but even then you are limited.

samples/reference for modeling style, setup and tri count:
Infantry: http://www.mediafire.com/?mtynyyimqm2
buildings: http://www.mediafire.com/?otmgjykwcjy
vehicles: http://www.mediafire.com/?2tytkmnd1zg

Also we have to see what your previous work looks like, if you have none at the moment then we will set you a project to do as a trial for us.

Ok, I'm current now re-downloading 3DSMax 09 again since I don't and can't seem to find my installation of it. But neverless, I will once have it again. And I understand your issues with SketchUp.

One another note, I don't have any models of relavence to the project. But I've made some things to so with 'war' this week which I will post tommorow.

And, a trail run sounds good to me. I have looked at those archive of models, but I can't open them yet due to the fact I don't have Max :P

Hello Infx, nice to see your application =)

How about the Chinese Type 86 AT-Gun as your application project? The maximum tri-count for vehicles is 6000, inclusive wreck- and crushed-model. Here are some reference pictures for you.

I suggest you take the Relic AT weapons from the vehicle pack as your reference for size and how objects are dealt with for a low poly count.

Reference AT guns are here:
M1_57mm.3DS
or
17/25 Pounder.3DS
can't remember if its 17 or 25.
